Prosopagnosia is a fairly rare presentation of acute ischemic stroke. It is also known as face blindness, and presents as an impairment to recognize known faces such as spouse, family, or friends. This syndrome can develop after traumatic brain injury or stroke, though the cases I have seen have all been related to ischemic stroke. Fascinating.
